MSCHF is a creative collective that engages in art, fashion, and technology. The MSCHF App was MSCHF’s first platform for distributing its creative output to an audience. While the core function of the app is to notify users of newly released MSCHF projects, the app also contains a broadcast channel for receiving cryptic messages from MSCHF, and an unusual referral program.

MSCHF App ✶

The MSCHF App is designed to subvert expectations of how a traditional app functions. Through an enigmatic onboarding flow, an unconventional navigation structure, and a persistent 1% battery indicator, the app rejects UX best practices in favor of creating an unusual experience.

The core function of the app is to notify users of newly released MSCHF projects. As a reflection of this purpose, the primary screen contains a chronological list of numbered “drops” and a timer that counts down to when the next project will be released.

The app also contains a broadcast channel for receiving cryptic messages from MSCHF, and a referral program where the user can earn a participation trophy.

When new projects are released in the app, they takeover the full screen.
